Hand baggage






You can bring hand baggage on all Armenia Airways flights as long as it complies with our hand baggage rules. Here, you will find all the information regarding Armenia Airways' hand baggage allowance, smart bag travel, and items that should not be included in your carry-on bag.
*Each piece of hand baggage must not weigh more than 7 kg.
Each item of hand baggage should not exceed the maximum dimensions so you can store it in the overhead locker.
Within your main hand baggage allowance, you can carry one of the following types of bag not exceeding the dimensions of 55 x 40 x 20 cm, which can be stored under the seat in front of you:
One laptop bag
orOne ladies' handbag
orOne gentleman's satchel
At the Check-in Desk
If your hand baggage is too large or heavy to carry on board, you must check it in at the Armenia Airways check-in desk. Alternatively, you can remove items from your hand baggage and place them in your checked baggage, provided this is within your baggage allowance and subject to any applicable excess baggage fees.
Before you check-in your hand baggage, please remove any valuable items, such as money, jewelry, precious metals, and important documents, including passports, business papers, and securities deeds.
At the Boarding Gate
All hand baggage, including duty-free items, will be checked for size and weight compliance. If your hand baggage exceeds the permitted dimensions or weight, it will not be allowed onboard.
Electronic Devices On Board:
If you carry a damaged, defective, or recalled battery or device, it must be turned off, protected from accidental activation, and not charged at any time. If any device you carry becomes damaged, overheats produces smoke, is lost, or falls into the seat, please notify our cabin crew immediately. Do not attempt to operate or move the seat, as this may cause further damage to your device.

For your safety and that of other passengers, there are certain items that you cannot carry in your hand baggage. Please read more about forbidden items in hand baggage.
Passengers traveling with infants
If you are traveling with an infant and your flight fare includes baggage, you are allowed to carry 10 kg of checked baggage
Traveling with smart bags
Armenia Airways does not accept smart bags, neither for checked baggage nor as hand luggage.

Checked baggage
Checked Baggage Guidelines
To ensure safe and efficient handling, all checked baggage must meet the following requirements:
Structure: Baggage must have at least one flat surface and should not have any loose straps. Items must not be tied or attached together.
Durability: Baggage must be sturdy, properly packed, and securely fastened to withstand the normal handling process during air travel.
Maximum Dimensions
The total height + width + depth must not exceed 158 cm.
Baggage exceeding these dimensions will not be accepted as checked baggage.
Maximum Weight
Each item must weigh less than 30 kg.
The total checked baggage allowance per passenger is 30 kg.
If your total checked baggage exceeds 30 kg, excess baggage fees will apply.
Identification
Each item of checked baggage must be labeled with a secure tag or sticker displaying the passenger’s name, full address, and telephone number, both on the outside and inside of the bag.
Prohibited in Checked Baggage
Do not pack valuable items such as:
Money, jewelry, or precious metals
Important documents like passports, ID cards, business contracts, negotiable papers, or securities
These should always be carried in your hand baggage.

Prohibited Items and Safety Guidelines
To ensure your safety and that of all passengers, certain items are strictly prohibited on Armenia Airways flights. Please read the guidelines below before packing.
Items Not Allowed on Armenia Airways Flights
The following items are not permitted onboard, either in carry-on or checked baggage:
Dangerous items that could injure passengers or damage the aircraft
Lithium batteries (loose, damaged, defective, or recalled)
Items illegal in the country of departure or destination
Hoverboards and similar devices, including:
Mini Segways
Balance wheels
Solo wheels
Rideable electric bags
These lithium battery-powered items are strictly prohibited in both cabin and checked baggage, with or without batteries.
Do Not Pack in Your Hand Baggage
Real, replica, or toy weapons
Sharp objects (e.g., knives, scissors, razor blades)
Hypodermic needles (unless accompanied by a valid medical certificate)
Sporting equipment (bats, clubs, etc.)
Do Not Pack Your Checked Baggage
Fragile or perishable items
Valuables, including money, jewelry, and important documents
Electronics (e.g., laptops, tablets) containing personal data
Medications you may need during the flight
Passports, visas, or other essential travel documents
Electronic Devices in Checked Baggage
If you pack portable electronic devices in your checked baggage, ensure they are completely powered off and protected from accidental activation.
E-Cigarettes Policy
E-cigarettes are not allowed in checked baggage
You may carry them in your hand baggage only
Use, charging, or operation of e-cigarettes is strictly prohibited on board and around the aircraft

Safety of your trip
For the safety of all passengers and crew, you must not carry dangerous goods on your person or in your carry-on baggage. The following items are strictly prohibited:
Fireworks
Ammunition
Lighter fuel
Butane gas
Matches and lighters
Oxidizing substances
Organic peroxides
Poisons
Radioactive materials
Industrial or corrosive chemicals (e.g., batteries, acids)
Other hazardous or miscellaneous dangerous goods

Excess baggage
Excess Baggage Policy
Passengers are required to pay an additional fee for any baggage that exceeds the allowed weight limit.
Please visit the Armenia Airways office at the airport to pay any excess baggage fees.
Be sure to request a receipt and keep it with you until you arrive at your final destination.
Excess Baggage Fees – Yerevan ↔ Tehran
For flights between Yerevan (EVN) and Tehran (IKA), the following excess baggage fees apply:
EVN → IKA:
1 kg excess baggage = 3,000 AMDIKA → EVN:
1 kg excess baggage = 3,000,000 IRR
Please ensure your total checked baggage does not exceed the 30 kg allowance to avoid additional charges.

Delayed or Missing Baggage
If your baggage does not arrive upon landing, please contact the Lost and Found office at the arrival airport and complete a Property Irregularity Report (PIR) form before leaving the arrivals area.

Keep Your Travel Documents
To support the baggage tracing process and any potential claims, please retain your:

Tracing Timeline
Armenia Airways will trace your baggage for up to 45 days from the date of the report. If your baggage is not located within this timeframe, you may submit a written claim to the airline.
Compensation
If applicable, compensation will be provided by Armenia Airways policies and relevant international aviation conventions.
